Created at the beginning of 2018, the Carbon Fri Foundation aims to promote the reduction of CO₂ emissions from Fribourg organizations. To do this, it awards the "Carbon Fri" label to Fribourg companies or events concerned about their ecological impact, which undertake to reduce their CO2 emissions and which invest in the foundation up to one contribution per tonne of CO2 emitted into the atmosphere. This label also makes it possible to obtain 4 points in the evaluation of tenders for public contracts.

The label can be awarded to companies, events, products, services and processes.

All the funds collected are redistributed in the economic fabric of the canton of Fribourg by supporting local projects that cannot benefit from existing aid and comply with the conditions for granting them.

Since its inception, Carbon Fri has created a truly dynamic and active community around sustainable development, bringing together labeled companies, the various actors of the supported projects and other stakeholders.
